Aston Villa have been credited with an interest in Middlesbrough brothers Anton and Bailey Palmer, who are attracting the attention of top clubs from around the country. The Palmer twins are only 16 but are highly regarded by Championship play-off chasing Boro.

Bailey and Anton are both involved in the England set-up, having been called up to represent the under 17s, and are considered to be among the most talented players, of their age, in the country.
It’s perhaps no surprise, then, to learn that the likes of Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Brighton and Hove Albion are also monitoring the brothers, according to TBR, both of who operate in midfield.

Anton has represented England four times this season and has been a regular in Boro’s under 18s, while Bailey scored in his sole run-out in the same side, in a defeat to their Wolves counterparts.

Bailey has also made Michael Carrick’s first-team matchday squad before now, being named in the 20-man squad, but remaining an unused substitute, in recent meetings with West Brom, Blackburn and Preston.

Villa have consistently proven, under owners NSWE, that they take a prudent approach to the transfer market and have also taken the academy structure particularly seriously since their arrival in 2018 – since, a host of players have gone on to play first-team football and bank Villa millions in sales.

In the windows, too, they have added the likes of Lamare Bogarde, Morgan Rogers, Amadou Onana and, recently, Andres Garcia to complement the likes of self-produced talent like Jacob Ramsey as they begin to cultivate a youthful core within the squad.
