Nottingham Forest want ‘relentless’ £35m-rated star but Tottenham make first move…
Nottingham Forest are going to be going in search of more players during the summer transfer window, whatever transpires in the final months of the season.
Evangelos Marinakis was desperate to sign a new striker in January. However, an inflated market and clubs being careful regarding PSR led to lots of belts being tightened.
A move for Yoane Wissa broke down, whilst Matheus Cunha was also linked with a move to Forest – although he chose to sign a new deal with Wolves instead, with a £62.5 million release clause activated this summer.
It appears that a striker will still be on the radar for the summer. However, it might not be the only area that Forest look to strengthen, with other positions likely to need some reinforcing ahead of the next campaign.
Nottingham Forest want Davide Frattesi
The Reds appear to be in the market for a new midfielder. According to ESPN, Forest are now eyeing a move for Italian central midfielder Frattesi when the transfer window reopens.
Much has been made about the midfield conundrum that Nuno Espirito Santo has this season. Elliot Anderson appears to have nailed down a spot, with Danilo, Ibrahim Sangare, Ryan Yates and Nicolas Dominguez options alongside him.
Frattesi only moved to Inter Milan during the summer of 2023 for a fee in the region of £20 million. During the current campaign, he’s played 32 times in all competitions, scoring four times and claiming two assists.
It’s believed that Inter will let him leave for around £35 million. The San Siro giants are keen to recoup a profit on the 25-cap Italy star and Forest could prepare a move to bring the player to the City Ground.
Back in October, Frattesi was praised for his ‘relentless’ display after a game over Roma. He showed brilliant tenacity and it would appear that interest is rife in the player.
Tottenham bid for Frattesi
Forest might have to fight Tottenham for the signature of the midfielder and there is a sense that this could be the work of agents trying to create a bidding war for the player.
Frattesi’s style of play might well suit the Premier League and perhaps that’s why the player is being targeted by a couple of clubs ahead of the 2025/25 campaign.
Forest could have a bit of a shuffle with their midfielders in the summer. It wouldn’t be logical for the club to sign another player for that area of the pitch and perhaps someone like Dominguez could head back to Italy.
Forest will have business to do during the summer transfer window. With or without European football Marinakis will have huge ambitions to kick on and it appears new players will definitely be on the horizon.
