With the arrival of new head coach Aaron Glenn, running back Breece Hall’s future with the New York Jets seems uncertain. At the annual league meeting on March 31, Glenn hinted he plans to give Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis more carries in 2025. Hall may not like the HC giving him fewer touches, especially with him entering a contract year. Then, in a story published on April 6, ESPN’s Rich Cimini suggested the Jets may place the 23-year-old on the trade block and consider replacing him with Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty if he’s available at pick No. 7 in the 2025 NFL draft. TODAY Sports In his latest hypothetical trade, Bleacher Report’s Alex Kay has the Jets sending Hall to the Cowboys for a 2025 third-rounder (pick No. 76) and sixth-rounder (No. 204). “Hall would clearly fill a position of need for the Cowboys,” wrote Kay. “He would be the best back to don a Dallas uniform since Ezekiel Elliott was in his prime and could quickly become one of the faces of the franchise.” This offseason, Rico Dowdle – who led the Cowboys in rushing yards (1,079 in 16 games) in 2024 – signed a one-year deal with the Carolina Panthers. To replace him, Dallas signed RBs Miles Sanders and Javonte Williams, who combined for 718 rushing yards in 2024. Hall could certainly fill the hole in the Cowboys backfield. Since the Jets drafted him with pick No. 36 in the 2022 NFL draft, the Iowa State product has rushed for 2,333 yards and 14 touchdowns.
