Luton Town – A Future Star Is Born..
Off the top of my head I’d list John Moore, Terry Branston, Chris Nichol, Paul Futcher, Steve Foster and John Faulkner among my own favourites.
Of course, I acknowledge you all may have others you’d like to add to the list as your own favourites, please feel free to do so at the foot of this article.
But, getting to the crux of the article, are we about to witness another extraordinary central defender carve out a huge name for himself at Kenilworth Road?
Christ Makosso, just 20-years-of-age, joined the Hatters in the 2025 January transfer window, from the Belgian club, RWDM.
Last weekend, he made his Luton Town debut, coming on as a substitute against Watford and although the Hatters slumped to defeat, the youngster was one of the few bright spots for Hatters followers that afternoon.
Yesterday (Saturday), against Portsmouth, Makosso made his first start for the Hatters, alongside Kal Naismith and gave the kind of display that was so good, it attracted instant respect from the Kenilworth Road support, as shown by several social media posts:

Yes, losing Gabe Osho was a major blow, I always thought he was an unsung hero and that the way he was allowed to leave wasn’t handled in the best of ways. Makosso will face sterner opposition but I’m sure he’ll rise to the challenge.

Not being included earlier may have been the result of getting up to match fitness, but the pace he has, allied with his all round defensive abilities, will make it hard for Matt Bloomfield not to continue playing him.
It’ll certainly be interesting to see how he does, if selected, against promotion chasing Burnley next weekend.
But I have a sneaking suspicion that, of all those we signed in January, when the transfer window was open, Makosso could be the best bit of business the Hatters hierarchy conducted.
