However, they will only be looking to sell him if they manage to sign a perfect replacement for their number-one shot-stopper.

Pope has been the main goalkeeper for the side since signing for the club in 2022. However, he has struggled with his form and injury concerns this season. So, the Magpies want to get money by selling him, as he is still 32 and still playing international football. They are looking to offload him for £10 to £15 million and sign a perfect, proper replacement for the 32-year-old.

Therefore, in my opinion, it is definitely a good decision to offload him since he is 32 and has also struggled with injury issues. However, the club needs to find a proper and younger replacement for him before offloading him in the summer. The club are looking at Burnley’s James Trafford as the one to replace Pope in the summer transfer window.
